I think it may be the worst by-election result Labour has ever had whilst in opposition. Well established as 2nd place party and losing 70% of its vote since 2019 (the tories, by comparison, lost 66% of its votes).
RW of the party today trying to spin that they welcome the result and that Labour didn't try too hard.
But they fielded a candidate and BEGGED, repeatedly, for members from the midlands and NW to go campaign there. And there's the below .... Labour third place in what it called a two-horse race.
