Being in the middle of a pandemic that has already claimed in excess of 60,000 lives in your country; in the midst of a major recession, with companies laying off thousands of workers, and the repercussions probably going to be decades in duration.
There are mass protests calling for an end to systemic racism and discrimination. The far right are on the streets in large numbers attacking the police and intimidating the rest of the population. The issue of climate change remains as relevant as before
You are 6 months away from leaving the world’s largest single market, to which 45% of your exports go and the negotiations to find an arrangement that market aren’t going well. It is the third anniversary of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
What would you do?
Well, what did Boris Johnson do?
He found the time to write an article in the Telegraph about how the statue of Churchill shouldn’t be removed (I’m not aware of any major call to remove it).
He lit up his house green.
